While the GRAMMYs came packed with amazing performances and memorable moments, little compared to when Beyoncé won Country Album of the Year and Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter. Although Beyoncé built a career in the music industry, she explored country music for the first time and collaborated with several stars in country. The final result gained high praise from fans and dominated the airwaves. With the room erupting into cheers as Beyoncé took the stage, some noticed Kacey Musgraves sitting. While fans debated her response online, a representative for the singer decided to set the record straight.

Looking at the category for Best Country Album, Beyoncé competed against Lainey Wilson for Whirlwind, Chris Stapleton for Higher, Post Malone for F-1 Trillion, and Musgraves with Deeper Well. Although the category was full of hit albums, Beyoncé walked away the winner. And as for the response from Musgraves, “It’s a sensationalistic false narrative meant to pit two talented female artists against each other. There was simply no scowl or expression made.”
It appears almost impossible to dodge the cameras when attending any sort of award show. And with it being the GRAMMYs, cameras were at the ready for any and every little moment. Still, according to the representative, the singer showed no disrespect to Beyoncé winning Best Country Album.
