Rod Stewart will be performing at the U.K.’s famous Glastonbury Festival this Sunday, June 29, and to commemorate his performance, the pop-rock legend has partnered with the WaterAid charity to offer a unique and comfy way for attendees to relieve themselves during the big event.

WaterAid and Sir Rod have launched the Boombox Bog, a large portable toilet designed to resemble a giant boombox. The toilet is decorated with various nods to Stewart and his music, including areas featuring a leopard-skin design.
The inside of the Boombox Bog also features replica cassettes and festival posters. Fans using the facilities will hear a selection of Stewart’s hits and special recorded messages from the singer discussing the importance of clean water and good toilets.
The lavatory is located near the Pyramid Stage, where Stewart will be performing in the festival’s famous teatime “Legends” slot.
The Boombox Bog will help promote WaterAid’s mission of making clean water available to people around the world.
Stewart issued a statement about the specially designed portable toilet.
“I’ve spent my life singing to packed arenas and festival crowds, but nothing hits a high note quite like clean water and a decent loo,” he said. “They might not be sexy, but they’re life-changing. That’s why I’ve teamed up with WaterAid to bring our funky Boombox Bog to Glastonbury Festival and shine a light on the importance of these everyday essentials that millions still live without.”
He added, “Together, we’re creating change that’s gonna last forever.”

Meanwhile, WaterAid executive Jennie York issued a statement of her own about the Boombox Bog.
“We’re so grateful to Rod for helping share the amazing power of clean water and a decent toilet with the funkiest loo at Glastonbury Festival,” she said. “It’s a fun and engaging way to celebrate the wonderful things that can happen if everyone has these basic needs met.”
She added, “Our fantastic volunteers are onsite keeping the water flowing and the toilets gleaming, so Festival-goers can focus on the magic that makes Glastonbury unforgettable. But when the music stops, we don’t. We’re bringing people together to help build a world where everyone has the water they need to stay healthy, learn and thrive. WaterAid has been a charity partner of the Glastonbury Festival since 1994.
The WaterAid organization also is encouraging people attending Glastonbury to support its cause by adding their names to its “Water can’t wait” open letter. The letter calls on world leaders attending the COP30 climate-change conference to take urgent action to address the global issues of water security and the climate crisis. COP30 will be held this November in Belem, Brazil.
More About Stewart’s Glastonbury Performance
Stewart’s June 29 performance will mark his first appearance at the Glastonbury Festival since 2002. Rod will be joined onstage by three special guests, one of which will be his former Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood.
The Glastonbury Festival is held annual in Pilton, U.K. This year’s fest kicked off Wednesday, June 25, and runs through the 29th.

Stewart’s Other 2025 Performance Plans
Stewart has dozens of other upcoming concerts lined up in 2025.
After Glastonbury, Rod will launch a North American summer tour plotted out from a July 3 performance in Quebec City, Canada, through an August 15 concert in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Cheap Trick will be opening many of those dates.
From September 24 through October 4, Rod will be in Las Vegas for six residency shows. They will be followed by a Latin American tour leg in October and a series of European concerts in November and December. Stewart last scheduled 2025 gig is a December 17 performance in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
