“I send my condolences to the family of the man who lost his life and prayers up for the person who was wounded,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “But I gotta address the rumors that happened at my video shoot bc shit is not true, at all.”

“To be clear,” she continued, “it happened at a gas station across the street from my video set. Florida Highway Patrol and Broward County Sheriff confirmed that the shooting wasn’t on my set.”

She also extended thanks to her security team who were all on site during the filming. “Thanks to my production team getting all the right paperwork right and working with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to hire [off-duties police] to make sure everyone was safe.”

Sexyy Red said they finished filming the video at a different location after the incident and that “everyone from our set went home safely. Period.”

“I’m just trying to work hard, make good music, connect with my fans,” she concluded. “Please don’t try to twist narratives and put this on a bitch.”

Sexyy Red is having a breakout year thanks to the hits “SkeeYee” and “Pound Town” with Tay Keith and a remix featuring Nicki Minaj. Her album, Hood Hottest Princess, dropped in June.

The St. Louis rapper also recently joined Drake and 21 Savage on their It’s All a Blur Tour and acted as support for Moneybagg Yo on his Larger Than Life Tour. Earlier this week, Sexyy Red appeared at the MTV VMAs in Newark, New Jersey.
