Sometimes, the best way to get your point across is to use a memorable example, like when Skid Row’s Scotti Hill used Jane’s Addiction’s shocking on-stage brawl as a reason the “I Remember You” band will never return to the stage with their original lineup.

Jane’s Addiction created quite a stir in mid-September 2024 when vocalist Perry Farrell began physically attacking a visibly confused Dave Navarro on stage. The confrontation led to the band canceling their reunion tour and posting a series of apologies on social media.
Hill used the viral incident as evidence that some reunions just shouldn’t happen—Skid Row included.
Scotti Hill Said Skid Row Reunion Would Be Like Jane’s Addiction
Skid Row fans have long pined for the day that the band would reunite on stage with their original vocalist, Sebastian Bach. But in a September 2024 interview with Hear 2 Zen Magazine, guitarist Scotti Hill outlined why, exactly, that would never happen. “I understand why people want that,” Hill said, “but it wouldn’t be how they remembered it. It wouldn’t be what they expected. They would be disappointed. We would be unhappy.”
“We just saw what happens when you try to do something like that,” he continued, referencing the Jane’s Addiction scuffle. “It’s terrible what happened to those guys. I feel terrible for them. But some reunions maybe shouldn’t happen. When I saw that go down, I could relate to it on many different ways—many ways. I’ve been on both sides of that coin.”
Years earlier, in 2019, guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo discussed the possibility of reconnecting with Bach on the Eddie Trunk Live show. “A reunion would have been great for a lot of other people who have wanted to see that happen,” he said, “but for us, it would not have been pleasurable, to be quite honest.”
Proving Sabo’s point that there was still plenty of bad blood between band members, Bach responded on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Sebastian Bach Has Responded About Reunion Rumors In Kind
Shortly after Blabbermouth.net released a transcription of Dave Sabo’s conversation on the Eddie Trunk Live show, former Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach shared his thoughts about the conversation on X. “Blabbermouth.net Makes Rock n’ Roll Not a ‘Pleasurable’ Experience,” Bach wrote. “Nice try on the character assassination guys. Keep dreaming of 26 years ago.”
“Wow holy slow news day,” Bach added. “I am actually accusing blabbermouth of this s*** daily. I have not been in a room with Skid Row since 1996. There is no possible way any one of the members of skid row could know what any ‘experience’ with me is like 23 years after being in a room with me.”
Though exact details of Skid Row’s split vary (as is often the case in breakups), the general consensus is that Bach left a scathing voicemail on Sabo’s machine in 1996 after Skid Row turned down an opportunity to open for KISS, much to Bach’s chagrin. Bach left the voicemail on Thanksgiving, allowing Sabo’s family to hear the F-bomb-laden message. That proved to be the final straw for Sabo, who promptly kicked Bach out of the band.
Scotti Hill summed up the band’s feelings succinctly in an interview with Another FN podcast: “People are like, ‘Hey, man, do it for the fans.’ Not at the expense of my happiness, no. We’ll go out in the cold, we’ll hang out with [fans], but what we won’t do is put ourselves in a volatile situation and be unhappy and destroy what we have now.”
At least we can rest assured knowing there won’t be any cringey viral fights of Skid Row fighting on stage anytime soon.
