“Somebody Sedate Me”: Fleetwood Mac’s Cryptic Move Stirs the Pot for Hopeful Fans

Following her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, Stevie Nicks, and consequently Fleetwood Mac, have been all over the internet and social media. Well, they sure do know this, as they recently ramped up the public pulse by not only making a TikTok but also creating an Instagram. Needless to say, fans are going crazy speculating, hypothesizing, and wishing for a possible reunited Fleetwood Mac.

This last weekend, Fleetwood Mac started an Instagram account out of the blue. Titled “fleetwoodmac” and featuring the verified blue check mark, the account is currently set on private and is only followed by nine people. One of those nine is Stevie Nicks. Who knows what’s to come up with this, but the hype is currently knocking fans off their feet.

Fans’ Reactions and Guesses

Again, when something of this magnitude occurs fans go into an all-out frenzy. A frenzy filled with jaw-dropping reactions, speculative claims, and booming hope that a moment such as this will pay off in some sort of way. Already the internet has seen all of these things, as this news might very well be the biggest news for both Nicks and Fleetwood Mac since Christine McVie’s passing in 2022.

With all that in mind, here are just a few reactions and claims fans have voiced. On X, one fan wrote regarding their potential reuniting, “Fleetwood Mac making an official Instagram and TikTok we are cooked.” Furthermore, another fan humorously stated, “Fleetwood Mac making an Instagram. Somebody sedate me.” Despite their hiatus, Fleetwood Mac still has mass appeal and fans are seemingly frothing at the mouth for more of them.

What is The Likelihood of Fleetwood Mac Reuniting?

At the end of the day no Instagram page, X comment, or Reddit thread can extract an answer to the question at hand. However, there might be some recent events that can help. That being so, in December of 2018 Lindsay Buckingham and Nicks settled their longtime legal battle. Though, this did not lead to Buckingham coming back to the band. Years later, Christine McVie passed away and Nicks officially announced Fleetwood Mac’s ceased existence.

Contrary to these negative events, Mick Fleetwood recently told Mojo in June of 2024 that he’d “love to see a healing between [Buckingham & Nicks] – and that doesn’t have to take the shape of a tour, necessarily.” Well, per Fleetwood’s comments, will their healing process entail something fans can enjoy? Who’s to say? But here is to hoping…
