“Sometimes We Get Disappointed in Life”: Ari Camille and Bryson Battle’s ‘The Voice’ Duet Leaves Adam Levine Desperate

With all four coaches’ teams full, The Voice season 27 artists are gearing up for Battle Rounds. This year’s hopefuls will benefit from the advice of some A-list advisors, including Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo and Grammy-winning foursome Little Big Town. Ahead of Monday’s (March 17) episode, the NBC show offered a sneak peek of one incredible Battle between two legendary (pun intended) singers.

Team Legend Members Battle it Out on ‘The Voice’

With the Blind Auditions over, The Voice season 27 is moving on to the Battle Rounds. During this portion of the competition, artists from each team sing the same song in pairs, with only one moving on to the next phase. However, the coaches also have the opportunity to “save” one artist per season, as well as “steal” from each other’s team.

Unfortunately for John Legend, the EGOT winner is facing an impossible decision between Ari Camille and Bryson Battle. The pair radiated chemistry during their duet of Muni Long’s “Made For Me.”

OG coach Adam Levine was the first to offer a critique. “Man, wow,” began the Maroon 5 frontman, 45. “Bryson, I wanted so desperately to have you on my team.

The aptly named Battle, 21, scored a coveted four-chair turn with his Blind Audition performance of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You.” Ultimately he chose Legend, who couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a little gloating.

“Sometimes we get disappointed in life, you know?” joked the “All Of Me” crooner, 46. “Everything doesn’t always work out.”

“Thanks, Dad,” Levine quipped dryly.

Who Will Move On to the Knockouts?

The “Girls Like You” singer continued to lavish praise on the North Carolina-based artist. “You were as spectacular then as you are now, man,” said The Voice three-time champion. “Like, you can’t sing better than that.”

Levine also had praise for Camille, although he told the 21-year-old Chicagoan he would probably lean toward Battle. “But it wouldn’t be an easy decision to make because there’s something really special about what you’re doing up there,” he said.

Next, The Voice newcomer Kelsea Ballerini offered her input. The “Penthouse” singer, 31, didn’t seem partial to either one, saying, “I was impressed with both of you separately and together… I think there’s a beautiful journey for both of you to have.”

Defending champion Michael Bublé, 49, was also having a tough time choosing. “I wouldn’t pick either one of you over the other,” said the “Feeling Good” crooner. “I think you’re both geniuses.”

In the end, the decision rests with Legend, who called both of his team members “immensely talented” with “such a bright future.”

Tune into The Voice on NBC Monday, March 17, at 8 p.m. Eastern to see who is moving forward to the Knockouts.
