When it comes to the Super Bowl, there is more on the line than just a ring. While the Kansas City Chiefs practiced for their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, fans of the NFL combed over statistics and odds to make sure they placed the correct bet. And while some might believe fans only bet on the game, betting goes far beyond what happens on the field. Leading up the to the big game, fans will bet on things like what color will the Gatorade be. And some even bet on Jon Batiste and how long it might take him to sing the National Anthem. For those looking to place a bet, here are the odds.

While surprising to some, the idea of betting on the National Anthem isn’t new. Fans have placed bets on the performance for years. And with Batiste taking the field to perform, the betting goes beyond just the length of the song. But when it comes to his singing, the betting odds were, “Over 120.5 seconds: -142 (bet $10 to win $17.04 total) Under 120.5 seconds: +120 (bet $10 to win $22 total).”
Bets Go Far Beyond Jon Batiste Singing The National Anthem At Super Bowl
Again, placing a bet on something like the National Anthem might be foreign to some, but when it comes to fans of the NFL, they know a single bet could bring in a great deal of money. Looking past just the length of Batiste’s performance, fans also bet on how long the singer might hold the word “Brave.” For now, the odds are Over/Under 3.5 seconds. A single bet of $10 could win a person nearly $20.
The bets continued to get strangers and the list got longer. Outside of the performance and holding the word “Brave,” fans also placed bets on if Batiste would use a piano and if a player or coach world cry during the performance. Going back to the numbers, Batiste using a piano appeared to be a favorite. And given his years of experience, many believed at least one player or coach would cry.
Be sure to tune in for the Super Bowl, airing live of February 9th at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox, to see just how long Batiste takes to sing the National Anthem.
