Today (February 22) is Bradley Nowell’s birthday. The singer-songwriter and frontman for the Long Beach, California-born ska-punk band Sublime would have been 54 years old had he not died of a drug overdose at 28 in 1996.

Prior to that, though, his band was at the top of the pop charts and in the hearts of many music fans for their three records, 40oz. to Freedom (1992), Robbin the Hood (1994), and the self-titled Sublime (1996).
