Watch Wyatt Flores Invite Charles Wesley Godwin to the Stage for a Surprise Duet During His Ryman Headlining Debut

2024 was a huge year for Wyatt Flores. He started the year as a favorite among independent country fans. Then, he toured the country and released his debut full-length album Welcome to the Plains. The album was lauded by fans and critics alike leading many to believe the Oklahoma native is country music’s next big thing. While the year was full of milestones and firsts, hundreds of fans saw one of Flores’ dreams come true when he took the stage at the Ryman Auditorium over the weekend to make his headlining debut at the Mother Church.

Flores played two nights at the Ryman, December 13 and 14. Lance Roark and Oklahoma Red Dirt legends The Great Divide opened for him the first night. Then, Bo Staloch and Evan Honer warmed up the crowd for his second night at the Mother Church.

Flores wasn’t alone during his headlining slot, though. He brought out some of the artists who helped him have such a massive year. The Castellows joined him for “Sober Sundays” and Charles Wesley Godwin joined him for a cover of Chris Knight’s “The Jealous Kind.” The pair performed the song together several times while Flores was a support act on Godwin’s tour.

“I can’t say that I’d be here if it wasn’t for him letting us open up the stage for him last year. So, thank you, Charles wherever you are, brother,” Flores said of Godwin while introducing the song. The “Welcome to the Plains” singer performed the song’s first verse before calling Godwin to the stage for a surprise duet. Wyatt Flores Celebrates His Ryman Headlining Debut

Wyatt Flores took to social media on Sunday (December 15) to celebrate his first headlining shows at the Ryman Auditorium. He shared more than a dozen photos from the Mother Church along with a heartfelt message.

“Ryman you’ve been a dream of mine for so long and I can’t believe we have another night of playing! Thank you to everyone who came for night one and making it such a special night,” Flores wrote in the post. “Thank you to Lance Roark for kicking the show off with a bang and thank you to The Great Divide for being one of my biggest influences in music and my heroes in life,” he added, shouting out his opening act and one of the most influential Red Dirt bands from Oklahoma, respectively.

“I truly wish I could fully put into words the feelings I was having standing on that stage. Night two is happening soon I’m ready to go back to church love y’all so much see you soon,” Flores concluded.
