Get Caught Up on The Voice Before Tonight’s Episode
Coaches started laying the groundwork for the rest of this season of The Voice last week and will continue that work tonight. The first night of Knockouts was an emotional one with some fan favorites going home, coaches pulling off last-minute steals, and the cream rising to the top.
John Legend was the first coach to send contestants to the stage last week. BD.ii chose to sing “Back at One” by Brian McKnight, and Kolby Cordell took on Stevie Wonder’s “Lately.” It was a tough choice for Legend, but he chose to send BD on to the next round. However, it wasn’t the end of the road for Cordell. Michael Buble and Adam Levine attempted to steal him. In the end, Cordell joined Team Adam.
Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Grace-Miller Moody took the stage to compete for their place on Team Adam in the next round. In the end, Levine chose to send Lucia to the next round.
It was the first Knockout for new coach Kelsea Ballerini. Dan Kiernan and Tinika Wyatt took the stage to compete. Ballerini chose to keep Tinika and send Dan home. However, she gave the singer her phone number before he left the stage.
Barry Jean Fontenot and Simone Marijic took the stage to represent Team Michael. Barry won the face-off and will go on to the next round.
Next, Trevon Dawson and Ethan Ekenroad took the stage to compete for a slot on Team Adam. Ekenroad will continue into the next round.
Iris Herrera and Angie Rey were next up, competing for a slot on Ballerini’s team in the next round. Ballerini chose to continue with Herrera. However, the season didn’t end for her competitor. Buble stepped in with a last-minute steal to keep her in the game.
