Regarding the podcast’s concept, Corgan says in the promo, “The Magnificent Others is a long-form show where we explore with great artists, musicians, anybody I truly admire [and] take you into their inner story about how they got to be so great.

He continues, “Look, we’ve all heard interviews from great artists. We hear the war stories. … We’re here to figure out what made them great and what keeps them great. We want to hear fresh stories. We want to hear fresh perspectives. We want to understand the times from their individuated perspective.

Corgan concludes by describing the podcast as “a very curious and one-of-a-kind exploration of these great minds.”

The Trailer Also Included Some Interview Snippets

The Magnificent Others trailer also features some glimpses at Corgan interviewing several of the guests.

In one clip, he comments to Simmons that he had a KISS poster on his wall before he’d “heard a note of KISS,” to which Gene humorously responds, “I’m so sorry.”

In another segment, Sharon Osbourne begins telling Corgan about “the biggest mistake” she ever made with her husband, Ozzy. Corgan cuts in and says, incredulously, “You’re gonna admit to a mistake?” Sharon shoots back, “I have several, Billy. We could be here all night!”

Jourgensen reveals in yet another snippet that he once lived with Timothy Leary, noting that psychedelic-drug advocate “would do Friday experiments on us.”

Corgan’s Video Message About the Podcast

Corgan also recently posted a video message on his social media pages revealing more details about the podcast.

“I’m so excited that finally, after so many, many months of waiting … The Magnificent Others, my new podcast has finally been announced, Corgan says in the clip. I’m like ecstatic. We already have a ton of episodes in the can. I think you’ll see from the trailer some of the upcoming guests. Shows will be launched weekly, and there’ll be information coming out about all that.

He continued, “I’m so excited. About a year ago, Bill Maher and his team recruited me to be on his new podcast network, so this is a big deal. And that’s part of the reason why I’ve been in [Los Angeles] so much in the last year [is that I was] recording episodes.”

Corgan added, “It’s so beautifully shot, and every show is about 90 minutes. So [it’s] really, really cool.” Billy also noted that more information about the podcast was available on his Substack page.
