Releasing a statement about backing out of the Cincinnati Music Festival, Jackson wrote, “To all my Cincinnati Music Festival fans. I’m so sorry that I won’t be able to be with you all in July. Some personal matters have come up and I am unable to attend. I look forward to seeing you all soon!” Only noting that she needed to deal with personal matters in her life, Jackson prepared to take the stage at the festival for the final performance, but now, organizers rushed to find a replacement.

Not wanting fans of the festival to worry, organizers also released a statement about Jackson backing out. “We just learned that Janet Jackson is unable to perform at the 2025 Cincinnati Music Festival presented by P&G due to personal matters. Festival organizers are working quickly to fill her spot on the lineup.”

Janet Jackson Doesn’t Allow Awards In Her Home

While needing to step away, Jackson always shared a love for the stage. Once speaking with The Guardian, she admitted, “This is just me, loving what I do.” She added, “Loving what I do and being grateful that God has allowed me to do what I enjoy and for people to still be interested. I’m very thankful.”

Throughout her time on and off the stage, Jackson sold over 100 million albums and held numerous awards including a Grammy Award and a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But yet, she doesn’t keep a single award in her home. “You know what, I really don’t focus on that. I  do what I do because I love it. I get so much fulfilment from it, but not one award is in my house, nor has there ever been.”

For those wondering what Jackson did with her accolades, she simply put them in storage. Allowing her home to be full of pictures of friends and family, she recalled how it came from her childhood. “Growing up in my parents’ house with my brothers, all across the walls there were the gold albums. The platinum albums. The covers. Maybe that’s why? Not to rebel against it, just … I grew up with this. I don’t need to do this.”
