According to Forbes, the 75-year-old New Jersey rock legend’s net worth is $1.2 billion. That places him 15th on the list of 18 celebrity billionaires. The magazine noted that the biggest chunk of Bruce’s wealth came from the 2021 sale of his music catalog to Sony, a deal worth estimated to be about $500 million.

Springsteen also has earned hundreds of millions of dollars from touring and sales of his albums. Bruce’s Springsteen on Broadway stage show also brought in plenty of money.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer declined to comment to Forbes with regard to his wealth.

Springsteen Denied Being a Billionaire in a 2024 Interview

After it was reported in 2024 that Springsteen had become a billionaire, Bruce told U.K. newspaper The Telegraph that the information wasn’t accurate.

“I’m not a billionaire,” he said. “I wish I was, but they got that real wrong. I’ve spent too much money on superfluous things.”

“[T]hat’s usually where people go south,” he maintained. He added, “If I had failed at that, I would have failed at everything, in my opinion.”

In addition, Springsteen has just announced plans to release a new archival box set titled Tracks II: The Lost Albums. According to a post on his social media pages, more details about the project are expected to be revealed on April 3.
