‘The Voice’ Live Blog: Battle of Champions Crowns Season Finale Winner (April 14, 2026)

As she held her trophy backstage, a teary-eyed Jayy called her mom to proclaim, “I won, I won, I won!” 

“I’m so proud of myself. This means so much,” she said. “I cannot believe that I just won The Voice. I get to take this back home to my babies. Oh my God!” 

“I’d say I can’t believe it, but I can,” Levine said. “There is no one that is more deserving of this honor.” Though she didn’t win, Clarkson acknowledged, “This was Alexia’s night, and I’m really proud of her… She’s so gifted. Honestly, this woman that’s 31 years old, like, where have you been?” Legend agreed, stating, “She was just consistently stunning, beautiful, magical. I’m truly happy that she won the show.”

After hearing from each of the four finalists about their Voice experience, Daly got to the results. Brown finished in fourth place, West came in third, and Ciara was named the runner up. That means that Team Adam’s Alexia Jayy officially became the season 29 champion of The Voice.

The last coach duet belonged to Brown and Clarkson, who opted to perform Billie Eilish’s Oscar-winning song, “What Was I Made For?”

Legend and his finalist created an epic moment when they played dueling pianos as they performed Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” 

For her coach duet, Jayy teamed up with Levine to perform Maroon 5’s iconic hit, “Sunday Morning.” The epic performance got both Legend and Clarkson out of their chairs and cheering for the duo.

NBA star Jimmy Butler jokingly revealed that he’s trading in his sneakers for a microphone to enter into a career in country music. To do so, each coach met with the athlete to give him some much needed lessons.

As the votes are tabulated, the coaches get to take the stage with their artists. First up, Ciara and Clarkson performed a stunning rendition of Rihanna’s “Stay.”

After the conclusion of the performance, Daly opened up voting to the audience, as they prepared to decide who will be the next champion of The Voice.

All three coaches wound up on their feet at the end of Jayy’s performance, as a teary-eyed Clarkson remarked, “That was crazy.” Legend was welling up too, as was Jayy’s own coach. 

“That was a therapeutic release my heart needed,” Clarkson said, before Legend remarked, “You’ve got us all weeping over here.”

Levine took a deep breath before he spoke, telling his artist, “You are important, man. You make people reflect on their own life. When you tap into that, you make the world feel a little bit more together and communal. That’s really, really special. I’ve never experienced the feeling that we all just had together. Thank you for being a messenger, man. You’re unbelievable.”

Speaking to the camera, Levine said Jayy’s performance “made it clear that it was her night.” 

Speaking to Daly and Levine, Jayy discussed the “hard and fulfilling” journey of trying to make it in the music business as a mom. “I get to show my kids they can do whatever they want,” she said. For her last performance of the competition, Jayy chose Adele’s “One and Only,” a song she used to sing as a kid. “Being able to sing this song on a big stage is gonna be super amazing,” she said.

Daly joked that Ciara’s performance brought him back to his “TRL days,” before Legend praised the teen’s direction and vision. Her coach stated simply, “You’re ready to be a pop star.”

The teenaged pop star went classic for her second song of the night, as she decided to sing Christina Aguilera’s hit “What a Girl Wants.” In rehearsals, Clarkson praised Ciara’s “musical instincts” and dubbed her a “young Mariah,” before reworking the track to make it different from the original song.

“I don’t know if I’ve seen anybody want it quite as badly as Liv wants it,” Clarkson told the cameras. “She’s a fighter. I think not getting that chair turn last season really fueled her.”

The coaches were impressed with West’s take on Legend’s song. Levine praised his decision to perform without a band, Clarkson complimented his range in music taste, and Legend said he “felt something” watching West perform.

West decided to take on “Ordinary People,” a song Legend released in 2004. “It’s just kind of full circle that I was listening to the modern day greatest pianist singer on the way to my piano lesson, and here we are! I’m your finalist.” Speaking to the camera, Legend noted that he’s “notoriously hard on artists singing my songs.” In West’s case, though, Legend said he’s “honored” the contestant decided to cover the track.

After her performance, Legend told Brown that she sounds “cool singing anything,” Levine said her unique style is helping her to “solidify your status beyond the show,” and Clarkson gushed, “You’re just so rad.”

“My goal as an artist is to tell people to love themselves. There’s been many times that I have allowed what other people thought of me to affect myself,” Brown told the cameras. “I was so insecure and I was fighting anxiety and depression. At one point, fighting anorexia. But being here now, it’s awesome to be on a show where I’m celebrated for who I am. I’ve just blossomed.”

For her second performance of the night, Brown went current, performing Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need.” She collaborated with Clarkson to make the song her own during rehearsals, a process that Brown said has given her “confidence” in the competition.

The teen decided to perform “The Greatest” by Billie Eilish in an effort to show the audience, “I’m young, but I can kind of dig down deep.” Ciara proved just that, as her coach was left in tears after her time on stage. “You’re so good,” Clarkson said. “… You have such a vision for yourself. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do after this show.”

After getting denied a chair turn last season, the 16-year-old pop powerhouse tried again and wound up making it to the finale. “When I didn’t get my chair turn, I kind of felt a voice inside of me that was saying, ‘Keep working.’ It obviously paid off.” 

For his first song of the night, Team Legend’s competitor performed Foreigner’s “Cold As Ice.” Levine called the performance “wonderful,” Clarkson praised how he “commanded the crowd,” and his coach noted that his voice sounded “powerful and clear.”

Chatting with Legend and Daly, West admitted that having the live studio audience choose the winner is “a little nervewracking.” His coach, however, noted that having musicians in the audience will likely spell an advantage for West, who’s frequently shown off his keyboard skills during the competition.

After her performance, the coaches offered Brown a standing ovation. Legend praised her ever growing confidence, Levine called himself a fan, and Clarkson gushed, “Your voice is so good!”

In a sit down with Clarkson and host Carson Daly, Brown explained why she chose to perform Ariana Grande’s “Almost Is Never Enough” in the finale. She’s singing the track because it’s one of her grandmother’s favorite songs to listen to amid her cancer battle. “I want to make her proud with it,” Brown said.

Clarkson screeched after watching Jayy rock the stage, Legend praised her as “a star,” and her coach marveled over the iconic songs she’s rocked throughout her journey on the show.

Speaking to the cameras, the proud mom explained, “Music is like my other baby. Presenting it to the world is scary. But being with Adam, I went from completely nervous to sitting in a room with one of my favorite artists, singing all of these legendary songs, and having fun. This gave me a new love for music.”

First up, Team Adam’s soul singer opted to cover Labelle’s iconic track, which her coach dubbed the “perfect” choice for the finale.

After weeks of competition, it’s all come down to this. Each artist will perform a ballad and an uptempo song, before a live studio audience made up of Voice alums and super fans votes to determine the winner.

Team Adam Levine’s Alexia Jayy, Team John Legend’s Lucas West, and Team Kelly Clarkson’s Liv Ciara and Mikenley Brown are set to face off in the finale for The Voice crown.

Before the finale gets underway, fans get to relive the Semi-Finals with an hour-long recap of the penultimate round. Viewers will get the opportunity to remind themselves how the four finalists knocked off five other competitors to make it to the last round of the competition.
