While 2024 marked a decade since Morgan Wallen entered country music, the singer appeared to be at the forefront of the genre. Over the years, he produced albums like If I Know Me and One Thing at a Time. That was on top of helming his One Night at a Time World Tour. Showing no signs of slowing down, Wallen won big at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards last night. But sadly, at the same time, Wallen pleaded guilty to throwing a chair off of the roof of Eric Church’s bar.

Nominated in several categories at the BBMAs, Wallen ended up walking away with awards for top male artist, top country male artist, top collaboration for his work on “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone, and top country artist. Thrilled about his achievement, Wallen thanked fans for their continued support in a pre-recorded message. “I just wanted to say thank you guys for everyone who’s supported me along my journey and, as always, most importantly, thank you to my fans. You guys have just given me so much freedom to make music that I want to make.”
Not speaking on his legal troubles, Wallen continued to shower fans with love. “Whether it’s a song that sounds similar to something I’ve put out in the past or whether it’s something that is completely different, you guys have always just given, at least given it a chance, and that’s all I can ask for, and I just want to say thank you guys for being that way with my music. I hope I can come back next year and accept some more, but for now, I really appreciate it. God bless you.”
Morgan Wallen Heads To DUI Education Center
As for his time in court, Wallen pleaded guilty as he stood in front of Judge Cynthia Chappell. The judge ordered the country singer to spend seven days in a DUI education center with an additional two years of probation.
Wallen’s lawyer, Worrick Robinson, wrote in a statement, “The plea agreement with the Office of the District Attorney requires Mr. Wallen to spend 7 days at a DUI Education Center, be on probation for 2 years – one year for each of the misdemeanor charges for reckless endangerment – pay a $350 fine and court fees. Upon the successful completion of his probation, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and expungement.”
As for Wallen’s stance, the lawyer concluded, “Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.”
