Alice Cooper Teams up With His Daughter and Slash for New Animated Video “Freewheelin’”

Throughout his career in the spotlight, Alice Cooper explored genres like heavy metal, hard rock, and even glam rock. Known for his elaborate concerts, the rock star found his groove with outrageous stage props and illusions that often incorporated themes of death. While selling over 50 million albums during his time on stage, he recently released an animated video for his song โ€œFreewheelin.โ€™โ€ Collaborating with his daughter, Calico Cooper, on the song, the hitmaker also brought in Slash to help out on the hit now nominated for a Grammy Award.ย

Part of the album titled Solid Rock Revival, the song was released under the Rock for Children name. Featuring numerous stars like Rob Halford and Daryl โ€œDMCโ€ McDaniels, the proceeds from the album went to Cooperโ€™s Solid Rock Teen Centers. The organization offered a plethora of resources for teens aged 12-20 which included classes for art, music, and even dance.ย

Alice Cooper Thrilled For The Kids At Solid Rock

Although joking about the entire ordeal, Cooper was shocked like most when the album received a nomination at the Grammys. โ€œIt was unique. It was something that came out of nowhere. And I think that that’s what people look for. They go, ‘Well, I never thought that that would ever happen, but good.’ It would be like if Marilyn Manson won for the same thing. I’m gonna tell him, ‘Make a kid’s album next. And try not to kill all of them.’”

As for the kids at Solid Rock, Cooper explained how it was a โ€œPretty big stepโ€ for them. โ€œI think it really says something to them. We’ve got an album that could win a Grammy out of here? It’s just a really cool thing for kids to see success happen, just the smallest seed growing into something that big. Sometimes the things you do for the fun of it turn out really, really good.”

While looking at what fans had to say about the song and video, comments included, โ€œIt has some vibes of โ€˜Baby Cant Driveโ€™ from Slashโ€™s solo album.โ€ Another person claimed, โ€œSuch a perfect song to promote kids to have the courage to ride a bike!โ€
