For the American Idol Grand Finale, Christian singer-songwriter Brandon Lake took the stage once again to perform on the show. He previously appeared back in April alongside Jelly Roll to perform their song “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”

Lake was joined by American Idol finalist Breanna Nix. The two performed a rendition of Lake’s song “Daddy’s DNA.” Nix was eliminated earlier in the show based on America’s votes, but returned for a special farewell alongside Lake. They performed the emotional duet backed by a string section, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Following his previous performance with Jelly Roll, Lake took to social media to share his gratitude for American Idol. He posted a series of photos from the performance along with a lengthy caption.
“Yall, I can’t speak highly enough about my experience. EVERYONE on the team was so incredibly hospitable, generous and down right kind. I can truly say I experienced the kindness of Jesus on and off the stage,” Lake wrote. “[American Idol] thank you for the opportunity but more so thank you for treating us so so well. As if I wasn’t already a major fan, i’m over the top now. I’m a lifer.”
American Idol Features Numerous Guest Performers On Exciting Grand Finale
Alongside Brandon Lake, other notable artists are taking the American Idol stage. Artist-in-residence Jelly Roll is on the list, taking a break from his mentoring duties. He’s been serving as a permanent fixture for the hopeful contestants throughout the season, helping to guide them on their journeys.
Jessica Simpson, Salt-N-Pepa, Goo Goo Dolls, Josh Groban, and Patti LaBelle will also perform. Of course, the Top 3 contestants will take the stage for their final performances. Jamal Roberts, Breanna Nix, and John Foster are all in the running to be named the next American Idol.
Finally, the three American Idol judges will also grace the stage. Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood will perform together during the finale before naming the winner. It’s been a long road for the contestants to get to this point, and it’s all come down to America’s vote.
