Brantley Gilbert Scheduled a Vasectomy After Wife Gave Birth on Tour Bus

Back in October, Brantley Gilbert rushed offstage mid-concert during a Mississippi show, leaving fans wondering what was so urgent. They quickly forgave the “Bottoms Up” singer when he returned to stage and tearfully announced he was a dad again. Turns out, Gilbert had abruptly paused the concert to take his place by wife Amber’s side as she delivered their son on his tour bus. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience—and Gilbert, 39, is making sure of that.

Brantley Gilbert Is Done Having Kids

Reuniting years after a high school romance, Brantley Gilbert married Amber Cochran in June 2015. The couple have since welcomed three children: son Barrett in 2017, daughter Braylen in 2019, and son Abram in October 2024. And Gilbert recently revealed that he underwent a vasectomy, forever preserving their family of five.

“I’ve got a testicle festival on December 11,” Gilbert said during an appearance on Something’s Burning, hosted by comedian Bert Kreischer. “I’m getting clipped, man.”

There are few decisions more monumental or life-altering than having a vasectomy. Fortunately, Gilbert didn’t have to face it alone. “I’m taking, like, several of my buddies,” said the country-rocker. “We’re gonna do it together, you know what I mean?”

When Kerscher and comedian John Crist pointed out that a vasectomy isn’t exactly “a buddy activity,” GIlbert doubled down. “I want moral support,” he insisted.

An Unforgettable Entrance

Abram Gilbert will likely never live down his earthside debut. When Brantley Gilbert took the stage Oct. 11 at Cadence Bank Arena in Tupelo, Mississippi, both he and wife Amber thought they still had some time before their son made his entrance.

“She had a great night the night before, so we thought we had a week left,” Gilbert told Fox News. “We didn’t.”

After returning to the stage, a choked-up Gilbert announced, “We got a baby in Mississippi!”

Taking to social media the next day (Oct. 12), the ACM Award winner called it “the craziest night of my life.”

“Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget,” Gilbert wrote. He added, “Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”
