Given the star-studded line-up and cover, Stapleton and company are inciting a surplus of excitement and energy to fans across the globe. Whether you’re watching on your couch or at a bar, the video makes you want to take the field yourself. Everything about it screams, “It’s football night in America” and fans are loving it ahead of tonight’s matchup of the Detroit Lions vs the Seattle Seahawks.
Fans are “Ready to Run Through a Wall” For ‘Monday Night Football’
It’s football, so no fan response to anything is surprising. Particularly this one, as one football fan posted on X stating, “CHRIS STAPLETON FOR MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL?! I’M READY TO RUN THROUGH A WALL!!!!”
Additionally, another fan posted something similar, as they wrote, “The opening of Monday Night Football… The first time I heard it, goosebumps and hair on my arms stood up.” Needless to say, it seems people are raving over this intro. Some might even go so far as to say they are watching Monday Night Football not for the football at all. Rather, they just want to see Stapleton do what he does best.
It Shouldn’t Work, but It Does
Rarely, if ever, have Phil Collins, Chris Stapleton, Cindy B Santana, and Snoop Dogg been grouped together in the same thought. If you agree, you’re not alone, as many fans are just as dumbfounded by the collaboration as you might be. One X user hilariously commented, “Maybe Chris Stapleton collabing with Snoop Dogg on a Phil Collins song for Monday Night Football can bring world peace?”
Another user added, “Monday Night Football just reminds me that “in the air tonight” is a forever jam. Phil Collins did what needed to be done. And Chris Stapleton did good too.” Per these responses on X, it seems football fans are thoroughly satisfied with the new Monday Night Football theme song. So much so that Stapleton and company are reportedly giving Carrie Underwood a run for her money, but that’s up for you to decide.
