Christina Perri is celebrating her daughter’s birthday with a special gift. On October 20, the singer will release songs for pixie, a new lullaby album in honor of her daughter Pixie’s first birthday. The album features a dozen songs that Perri has transformed into lullabies ranging from standards like “That’s Amore” and “Que Sera Sera” to beloved classics including Stevie Wonder‘s “Isn’t She Lovely,” and “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins that’s featured in the 1999 Disney movie, Tarzan, to modern gems such as Kacey Musgraves‘ “Rainbow” and “Rewrite the Stars” from The Greatest Showman.

“Songs for pixie, out 10/20, just in time for pixie’s 1st birthday,” Perri shares on Instagram alongside a video of her gently singing “Pixie Dust” a capella as she shows off the album that sits inside a case surrounded by crystals. Songs for pixie continues Perri’s tradition of releasing lullaby albums in honor of her three daughters. She released songs for carmella in 2019 and songs for rosie in 2021. Rosie was stillborn in 2020 and the album was released on what would have been her first birthday.
Perri rose to fame with the success of her debut single “Jar of Hearts” in 2010, followed by “A Thousand Years” in 2011. The latter song was featured on the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Adult Pop Airplay chart.
Perri released A Lighter Shade of Blue in 2022, her first official studio album since Head or Heart in 2014. “I’ve also learned over time, and as a songwriter progressing in my craft, I’ve learned to go and dig deeper and deeper and deeper,” she explained to American Songwriter in 2022. “And if I’m not feeling better, I haven’t hit the core of that emotion yet. I have to keep singing about it until I feel better, which I think is the magical thing about songwriting.”
