Dasha Solidifies Her New Superstardom With Electric “Austin” Performance at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Country music has had quite the year for newcomers, and that is partially thanks to Dasha. Thanks to her album, What Happens Now? Dash garnered the attention of pop-country fans across the globe. However, what made people actually watch her was the hit single, “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’).”

Released in 2024, Dasha’s single has become a viral sensation. Besides scoring over 10 billion views on TikTok, the single peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gave the singer her first-ever appearance on the chart. Furthermore, the single has been RIAA-certified platinum in the States and 17 other countries. Needless to say, there is a reason The New York Times described the tune as “one of the signature country songs of the year.”

Thanks to her success, her appearance at the infamous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was inevitable. Appearing on America Productions’ “Big City Cheer” float, Dasha stunned audiences with her hit song, “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’).” Dasha performed as if the moment was a rite of passage and solidified her newfound status in pop culture.

Dasha’s Thoughts on Her Newfound Fame

Earlier this year, Dasha opened up about her recent fandom and the feelings that ensued with iHeart Radio Canada. “It’s been so insane and just a roller coaster” and “Happening this fast at this pace, is honestly, just a dream come true,” shared Dasha. Since she was 13 years old, Dasha and her team have been independently producing and releasing music. Though, they “finally busted through that fence and crossed that boundary,” added Dasha.

Many people seemingly believe Dasha is an overnight success thanks to her song. However, that is not the case and it doesn’t offend her when people tag her with that label. She stated, “Every person that breaks out into the music industry has the same comments” and “It comes with the territory.” “They don’t see the 10 years that I’ve been writing songs and releasing music and just trying my best,” she concluded.

Dasha’s come a long way in her 10 years and her Macy’s Day Parade appearance is a testament to her dedication, grit, and determination for her work. Dasha is set to embark on her debut headline tour, Dashville, next April.
