MHA is a nonprofit founded in 2013 to provide healthcare access and resources to people working in the music industry, many of whom are self-employed. “Music Health Alliance’s mission is to Heal the Music by providing access to healthcare through services that PROTECT, DIRECT & CONNECT music professionals with medical and financial solutions,” they state on their website.

One of MHA’s clients is Bentley, who was recently announced as its newest celebrity ambassador. In 2019, Bentley was also the spokesperson for Heal the Music Day, an event to bring awareness to MHA’s mission.

“Healthcare is the ultimate thing you can offer your team out there on the road,” Bentley said at an MHA event at the Gibson Garage in Nashville on Tuesday (Jan. 31). “Having 30 people on my team, it is tough to navigate insurance and healthcare and having MHA to help us figure it out and uncover benefits we didn’t even know were available. They’ve helped us save so much over 10 years and $100 million industry-wide…it’s just incredible!”

The organization reports that over the past decade, they’ve serviced more than 20,000 clients in the music industry, helped save more than $100 million in healthcare costs, and provided access to more than 1 million meals during the COVID-19 pandemic, among other accomplishments.

MHA has also added the Richard M. Bates SMILE Fund, which focuses on dental health, in an effort to help music professionals get access to dental care that is expensive or not covered by insurance.

“In 10 years MHA has gone from just an idea to a thriving organization that has served tens of thousands and saved over $100 million in healthcare costs to keep the music playing across this country,” MHA Founder and CEO Tatum Allsep said in a press release. “MHA’s success is possible because we have a fierce staff, dedicated Board of Directors and encouraging donors and community who sincerely believe in our mission to Heal The Music. Thank you all and cheers to 10 years!”
