Drake Questioned about Astroworld Festival

Drake appeared on stage as a guest during rapper Travis Scott’s performance at the Astroworld Festival. A crowd surge, alongside jam-packed conditions, caused several people to be trampled. It led to the horrific site, as described by Billboard, in which unconscious people were pulled over the railing. Ten people died during the crowd surge from suffocation.

The exact nature of Drake’s questioning is not known. Due to legal reasons, the singer has declined to comment. A rep for Drake told Rolling Stone, “In light of directives in the case, I do not find it appropriate to provide comments on the matter.”

Drake Shares Thoughts About Incident

However, previously, Drake made his thoughts about the festival well-known. He shared that he wasn’t aware of the incident while it occurred. He said he only found out later after the incident had occurred. Drake also denies any involvement in staging the festival, sharing his thoughts about the tragedy on social media.

Following the festival, Drake shared his devastation on Instagram (quote via BET). “I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy,” he wrote at the time. “My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering. I will continue to pray for all of them and will be of service in any way I can. May God be with you all.”

According to security, they tried to reach out to Drake’s and Scott’s management behind the scenes to get the concert shut down. However, according to security, representatives for both artists refused to listen, citing the artists still had several songs left to perform.

Meanwhile, Scott also previously shared his own thoughts on Twitter. “I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival.”
