In the fall of 2024, after Hurricane Helene flooded western North Carolina, Eric Church and Luke Combs put their heads together and quickly organized the Concert For Carolina benefit show. With the help of some friends and organizations, Church and Combs were able to raise over $24 million for all of the folks and families affected by the floods.

Since the concert, Luke Combs and Eric Church have been honored with awards and general praise. However, and more importantly, they haven’t stopped supporting their home state. Recently, Eric Church bought land in Avery Country, North Carolina, in order to build houses for the families that lost theirs.
Combs on the other hand has distributed his portion of the raised funds to organizations Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and Eblen Charities. Per both their comments, it seems this endeavor has been the most meaningful moment of both Combs and Church’s careers.
Eric Church & Luke Combs Have Big Hearts for Their Home State
Recently, Eric Church announced the release of his impending album, Evangeline vs. The Machine. One of the songs to be featured on the album is the released single “Darkest Hour.” Which lyrically discusses the natural disaster that tore through his home state and the resilience of the residents. In the announcement, Church said it was “The greatest concert I’ve ever played” and “The greatest thing I’ve been involved with.”
Church isn’t alone in his opinion, as Combs made similar comments not so long ago on an Instagram post. Combs wrote in his post, “My goodness, what a night! This will undoubtedly go down as the night I am most proud of in my career. Being able to give back to the place that gave me so much.” “We were able to raise 24.5 MILLION DOLLARS for the people of Western North Carolina and I’m so thankful and humbled to be able to be a part of that,” concluded Combs.
Needless to say, Eric Church and Luke Combs did a great thing. Surely their selfless act set a precedent that every entertainer will follow in trying times such as this one.
