Scottish DJ Jack Revill, known by fans as Jackmaster, passed away at the age of 38 on Saturday, October 12. The news of Revillโs death came from his family on Jackmasterโs official Instagram account.
โIt is with profound sorrow that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmasterโ the caption of the post, which features a photo of the musician, noted. โHis familyโKate, Sean, and Johnny โ are utterly heartbroken. While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they navigate the immense grief of this devastating loss.โ

Jackmaster was best known as a DJ and record producer. He helped launch Numbers, the famous Glasgow-based record company, as well as a number of other labels. His musical legacy often focuses on his very eclectic and diverse taste in music, which he used to mix a variety of unlikely genres together.
Jackmaster started his DJ career at only the age of 13, and he quickly became a mainstay DJ and nightclub figure throughout Glasgow. He won a number of awards throughout his career, namely the Best Of British Awardsโ Breakthrough DJ award in 2010. His last DJ mix release was DjKicks Jackmaster in 2016.
How Did Jackmaster Pass Away?
According to the Instagram post provided by Jackmasterโs family, the 38-year-old artist allegedly died following an accidental head injury sustained while visiting the island of Ibiza in Spain. Additional details surrounding what caused the injury have not been released, and his family has asked for privacy during this time.
Since the announcement, fans and celebrities in the music world alike have been singing Jackmasterโs praises and lamenting his untimely death.
