Over the weekend, the Rock the Country music festival took over Anderson, South Carolina. With the event promoting a stellar lineup that included Nickelback, thousands traveled to the area. Among the performers was also Gavin Adcock. Never afraid to share his thoughts, opinions, and hot takes on singers like Beyonce, Adcock found himself in a recent altercation when the sound engineer for Nickelback apparently started cursing at his guitar playerโs mom.ย
While most singers will go to extraordinary lengths to keep the peace, Adcock had no problem addressing a situation in front of thousands. In a few videos shared online, Adcockโs father and the sound engineer appeared to get into a heated conversation. With Adcock on stage at the time, he quit singing, stating, โHey, let me tell you something real quick.โ Getting the attention of the sound engineer, the singer continued, โHey buddy, youโre gonna lose your g****mn job you stupid a** bum, you better f*** off back there.โ

Gavin Adcock Labels Sound Engineer “Dip**** Of The Week”
With Adcock eventually making his way back to the stage, fans were somewhat confused as to what exactly caused the confrontation. Thankfully, the country singer set the record straight in a separate video, labeling the person “Dip**** of the Week”. โMy family had been standing there for 17 songs. I watched them the whole show, not causing any problems. You come up and get in my familyโs face, trying to get my dad kicked out? And you know what, I got you kicked out. The police drug you out on top of your head, you bum. Congratulations, dude, Nickelbackโs sound guyโs a real winner.โ
Although seeming to defend his family, Adcock shared more details about the incident. Apparently, it all started when the sound engineer noticed a drink sitting on the soundboard. Agitated by the drink, which happened to be the guitar playerโs momโs, the individual smacked the drink off. Thatโs when Adcockโs father confronted the man.
Watching the situation, Adcock recalled, โIt wasnโt my dadโs, it was my acoustic guitar playerโs momโs. Sound dude comes around the corner, sees the drink, slings it off the soundboard, itโs empty by the way, and goes to cussing out my acoustic guitar playerโs mom.” He continued, “Iโm up there singing โCigarette.โ And he gets security to come down there, and I see them, and they are about to grab my dad, and I just run down the alley and tell them, โNah, you ainโt kicking me out, heโs the one causing problems.โ So security got him, took him on his way. That was it.โ
