A former member of One Direction, he rose to stardom alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. Tributes have been coming in on social media as the shock rolls through the music industry and beyond, and Styles’ mother, Anne Twist, recently shared a heartbreaking message concerning the news.

“Just a boy …,” Twist wrote in an Instagram caption, paired with a simple photo of a broken heart. Fans gathered in the comments to share their grief and condolences. Many shared the same sentiment, while others urged Twist to take care of her son in this tragic time.

“Anne, take care of yourself and please take care of our Harry for us! Mental health is everything,” one person wrote. Another urged, “Please take care of the boys. Other Members of One Direction Have Yet to Publicly React to News of Liam Payne’s Death

Styles, Tomlinson, Malik, and Horan have yet to make public statements concerning the news of Liam Payne’s death. It is possible they are taking time to process the tragedy, and their privacy should ultimately be respected at this time. However, other people in Payne’s life, such as Horan’s brother, have shared their condolences.

“You were a top young boy to a man a son a brother you are only one of 4 lads I was happy enough to take my place in Niall’s life as a brother you will be forever missed,” Greg Horan wrote on Instagram. “Liam words can’t describe how much I want to grab my brother and mind him now while the world shows their memories of you and him and the boys.”

Liam Payne rose to stardom with One Direction in 2010. He and Harry Styles originally met on The X Factor, where they auditioned separately. However, the judges grouped Styles, Payne, Malik, Tomlinson, and Horan to form the boy band. They would go on to become international superstars before splitting off into successful solo careers.
