Imagine Dragons Drummer Daniel Platzman Quits Band for Career Shift

While in the final stages of signing a deal with Interscope Records back in 2011, Imagine Dragons also looked to change the lineup of the band. Bringing Daniel Platzman on the stage, the drummer seemed to be the perfect fit. And the rest fell into place as the drummer spent the next decade with the band. Working in the studio and on the road, Imagine Dragons grew both their fanbase and discography. But after taking a break for some time, Platzman announced his departure from the group, explaining how he wanted to take his career in a different direction.

Updating fans on what the future holds for the drummer, Platzman shared a picture of Imagine Dragons interacting with a sea of fans. The drummer revealed, “After an incredible journey of over a decade, I will be departing the amazing band that is Imagine Dragons. I wanted to share my deepest gratitude to you, the fans, for your unwavering support and sharing in the joy of music with me. Connecting with you all has truly been the highlight of this chapter.”

Fellow Member Of Imagine Dragons Excited For Daniel Platzman

Although the end of a chapter for Platzman, he announced to his fans, “I’m excited to be able to share more soon about the projects I’ve been hard at work on over the past few months centered on my biggest passion: film scoring and composing. I promise you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned.”

Besides Platzman switching the stage for the silver screen, fans rallied around him, supporting his new dream. “Thank you for all your years with the band dear, we will miss you very much, we will always carry you in our hearts and we will support you from Chile.” While gaining thousands of likes, one fan continued, “oh gosh, i really needed to hear it from you 🙁 thank you for being such an important part of imagine dragons. for the music, the joy and the energy. will forever cherish these years, and always wishing you the best life ever. We love you platzman!!!!”

Even bassist Ben McKee took a moment to thank Platzman. “Love you Platz! Looking forward to making more Cat Boiz music in the future.” Ending his time on the stage, it is only a matter of time before he takes over Hollywood.
