On Sunday’s episode, host Ryan Seacrest revealed during last week’s installment, the season’s Top 7 contestants will travel to Disneyland Resort.
Thunderstorm Artis, John Foster, Slater Nalley, Breanna Nix, Mattie Pruitt, Jamal Roberts, and Gabby Samone will all celebrate Mother’s Day with special performances in their bid to continue on in the competition.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, of Hamilton fame, will be there to advise them along the way. All the while, judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood will watch on.
Amid the performances, America will cast their votes about who to cast through into the Top 5. The final five contestants of the season will be revealed at the conclusion of the episode.
How Many American Idol Episodes Remain This Season?
Disney Night #2 will air on Monday, May 12. While songs about moms will make up the Sunday episode, heroes and villains will be the theme the following night.
Miranda will be back for the week’s second episode, even gracing the audience with a performance. Each contestant will take the stage twice during the show, before America’s votes decide the season’s Top 3 performers.
Then, on May 18, American Idol‘s season will come to an end. The Top 3 contestants will give their final performances during a star-studded night that will feature both music legends and top stars. The moment everyone’s been waiting for will follow, when the next American Idol is revealed live.
As for how to make sure your favorite contestant makes it through, there are three ways to your voice heard. Viewers can cast their votes on ABC’s website, through the American Idol app, or by texting their favorite artist’s number, which will appear onscreen during the episode, to 21523.
All three remaining American Idol episodes will air live coast-to-coast at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. While the May 11 and 12 episodes will each be two hours long, the May 18 finale will span three hours.
