Is Madonna Headlining Glastonbury 2024? Here’s Why Fans Think She Might Be

After some delays, Madonna‘s The Celebration Tour finally kicked off at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday, October 14. The venue holds 20,000 people, and one of the folks inside was Emily Eavis, a co-organizer of the Glastonbury Festival.

Eavis posted a photo of Madonna from the stage along with the simple caption, “She’s back! Incredible.”As reported by NME, this had led many fans to speculate that Madonna will be headlining next year’s Glastonbury.

Fans began the speculation in the comments under Eavis’ post. “Sunday night, 2024, make it happen!” one wrote. Another said, “Well, you did say that there would be a more female representation with the headliners in 2024…”

Other names that have been thrown around as a wish list of potential headliners for the festival are Harry Styles, The 1975, and Rihanna. These are all still purely speculative.

Next year’s festival will take place from Wednesday, June 26 through Sunday, June 30 at Worthy Farm in Pilton. Ticket/coach travel packages will be available to purchase beginning on Thursday, November 2 at 6PM GMT. General sale will take place at 9am GMT on Sunday, November 5. Madonna has been busy on The Celebration Tour and will continue her four-day run at The O2 until Wednesday, October 18 before making her way throughout Europe. She’ll begin her North American leg of the tour in late 2023 and continue it into 2024.

Earlier this summer, the pop star was admitted to the hospital for a serious bacterial infection after she was found unconscious in her home. She has since recovered, stating that she’s “lucky to be alive” after her ordeal. The Celebration Tour was postponed from July until October to give Madonna time to get back to full strength.
