Over the last two weeks, Saturday Night Live welcomed Mikey Madison, Jack Black, Brandi Carlile, Elton John, and even Morgan Wallen to the stage. Although taking some time off from the show, the cast returned with a rich lineup of talented actors and singers. Just last Saturday, Black returned to Studio 8H to promote his newest Minecraft film. His promotion appeared to work as the film dominated the box office. While a hilarious episode, a new weekend is here and that means a new host and musical guest. At least, if SNL is new tonight.

As fans of SNL continue to reminisce over last week’s episode, SNL will take the stage once again for a new episode tonight. Keeping the momentum going, actor Jon Hamm shared his excitement to host the show for the evening. And looking at the musical guest, Lizzo will also stand under the spotlight at the famed Studio 8H.
Releasing a promo for the upcoming episode, Lizzo and Hamm stood beside Bowen Yang and Marcello Hernandez as the group talked about how close they all were. When naming their favorite food, they all explained their love for “mozzarella sticks.” And that was just the start as they also named their favorite movie. Yet again, each said the same thing, pointing to Angels in the Outfield.

Lizzo Wears Britney Spears Shirt During ‘Saturday Night Live’ Promo
Just a sample of what fans should expect from tonight’s show, some took notice of Lizzo’s shirt. With the singer wearing a shirt with Britney Spears on it, Lizzo once discussed how Janet Jackson was the Queen of Pop. Although loving Spears and her contributions to pop music, she said on the Sibling Rivalry podcast, “Here is why I said Janet Jackson is the Queen of Pop: Britney Spears is doing a Janet impression, and she said it. Janet is her diva. There were no such things as pop divas before Janet. Janet was first … and I’m just putting it out there.”
Not wanting to discredit Spears and her work, Lizzo noted how she only focused on the genre’s creator. “It’s not because someone is better than the other. She was just first, and she is Janet. She invented this s***.”
While Lizzo’s original statement happened back in 2021, the singer continued to share her love for Spears as she showcased the throwback shirt.
Don’t miss a new episode of Saturday Night Live, airing at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and available to stream on Peacock.
