“It’s Officially Christmas” Now That Dan + Shay Have Gifted Us With Their Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Performance

Between being nominated for a CMA Award and releasing It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album, Dan + Shay has had quite the Fall leading up to this year’s holiday season. Well, they continue to do so, as they took on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Hallmark’s “Heartwarming Holiday Countdown” float.

Dressed to impress and excite the crowd for this year’s upcoming Christmas, Dan + Shay sang “It’s Officially Christmas.” Packed full of their classic harmonies and holiday cheer, the vocal duo joyfully rocked the streets of New York City. In all, it was quite the holiday treat.

Dan + Shay is one of the most decorated country music duos to grace the Macy’s Day Parade. With two CMA Awards, four ACM Awards, two PCCA Awards, and 13 billion global streams. It comes as no surprise that the duo made their return to Thanksgiving’s biggest event. They previously appeared in 2014 on Gibson’s “It’s All Rock & Roll” float performing their hit single, “Show You Off.”

Thanks to It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album, their 10-year hiatus from the parade was as appropriate as ever.

Recently, Dan + Shay spoke with Pure Country Radio and talked about their newest Christmas album and the inspiration behind it. “It was January, we had a snowfall here in Nashville, I went over to Dan’s house and we ended up writing a Christmas song” and “That was the first domino of creating this Christmas album,” said Shay.

He added, “This Christmas album is going to live on for the rest of our lives” and “This is one of those legacy things that we’re very, very proud of.” “I hope that you know kids now that are like five-years-old, here in like 10 years are like you know this is the album that they’re listening to” and “You know grew up on, and that’s the dream,” Shay concluded.
