TikTok Declares Jason Kelce a “National Treasure” After Bonnie Tyler Performance
This past Saturday (Nov. 23) the Appalachian State Mountaineers squared off against James Madison University for homecoming weekend in Boone, North Carolina. Fans were delighted when Jason Kelce made a surprise appearance during pre-game tailgating.
The scene was straight out of an ’80s frat movie. Decked out in Mountaineer black-and-gold striped overalls, clutching a beer in each hand, Kelce, 37, joined fans in belting Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
The lead single off Tyler’s 1983 studio album Faster Than the Speed of Night, “Total Eclipse’s” chorus demands maximum volume. And Jason Kelce certainly understood the assignment, growling, And I need you now tonight / And I need you more than ever / And if you only hold me tight / We’ll be holding on forever.
Footage of the moment quickly went viral on social media. “Jason is a National Treasure. Protect him at ALL costs,” one TikTok user commented.
“I hope my retirement mirrors his,” added another.
Others marveled at Kelce’s ability to juggle three beers while still hitting every high note. “Man does not need to say Hold my Beer. He just does the thing holding 3 beers!!” one fan noted.
Why Jason Won’t Give Out Taylor Swift Tickets
Jason Kelce and younger brother Travis, 35, reached an entirely new stratosphere of fame when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end began publicly dating pop megastar Taylor Swift in September 2023. The “Fortnight” singer has given her boyfriend’s brother carte blanche to hand out tickets to her billion-dollar Eras Tour. But don’t try to hit up Jason for tickets. The Super Bowl LII champion has said it’s “an immediate no.”
“[She’s] great, but I still say no to everybody,” Jason said during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. “I’m not gonna be the one to impose on that. I don’t want to put that position out there.”
