Just last week, Jelly Roll shared the news on Instagram that he would be appearing on SNL during the season premiere with Smart. At the time, he wrote, “The premiere of the 50th season of SNL. BRB going to cry for a few hours and call every family member I have. Bringing therapeutic music to my favorite show ever. God is Good.” Always spreading love, Jelly Roll appeared all smiles as he took the stage to perform.
Featuring a surprise appearance from Hannah Einbender, the two Hack co-stars Jean Smart, helped introduce the singer for his performance of “Liar” off his upcoming album, Beautifully Broken. Jelly Roll took it from there, and it’s safe to say he impressed.
Commanding the stage with a team of backup singers, fans loved the performance, writing, “Oh Jelly…preach brother because this world needs you!!!” Another comment read, “Jelly Roll did it again!!! Got goosebumps listening to this song!!! Love It!!”
Jelly Roll Goes on a Winning Streak
Jelly Roll wasn’t done just yet. After. a stellar first showing, the country superstar continued his “Winning Streak” by knocking his final performance out of the park. Standing in front of a row of empty chairs and flagged on both his left and right side by singers, Jelly Roll did what he typically does, own the stage.
Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken album is set to drop on October 11. Recently speaking with New York Times Magazine, the artist opened up about seeking for songs with purpose.
“When I go to put out a song under the name Jelly Roll, I think to myself, Why? Because for the first time in my life, it has nothing to do with a financial decision. I’m well past putting out anything for money. So, now, it really is a why. Songs like ‘Winning Streak,’ that’s a why,” he said.
