Back in 2012, Aerosmith released their last album with Music From Another Dimension! Although over a decade had passed since that moment, the group continued to hit the road with several tours. And in 2023, Steven Tyler took the stage for Peace Out: The Farewell Tour. While meant to be a celebration of the band’s legacy, tragedy struck when Tyler suffered a larynx injury in September of that year. And in August 2024, Tyler announced the end of Aerosmith. With fans continuing to wonder if the band will perform one last time, Joe Perry recently offered an update on Tyler and the likelihood of a farewell show.

Speaking with WBUR’s Jim Sullivan about the future of Aerosmith, Perry believed the band wasn’t over. “I would bet that there’s an Aerosmith show left.” And offering more than just a show, the musician added, “There’s been talk about doing a documentary; that might be part of it.”
While fans will be ecstatic over the news, Perry also shared an update on Tyler. “I’ve been spending a lot of time with Steven and he just doesn’t want to tour and he can’t tour. It’s tough. I’m not sure I would want to go out and book another 40-city tour.”
Steven Tyler Performs At Ozzy Osbourne’s Final Concert
The idea of Tyler needing some time away from the road made sense. Over the past 50 years, Aerosmith has toured more than 30 times. Having dedicated a majority of his life to the road and music, Perry’s statement seemed to indicate that Tyler deserved his rest.
Although Aerosmith might not be performing concerts, Tyler couldn’t stay away from the stage for long. Just last month, he returned to the spotlight to celebrate the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne at the Back to the Beginning concert. Only performing three songs, Tyler covered “Whole Lotta Love”, “The Train Kept-A-Rollin”, and “Walk This Way.”
With Tyler proving he could still dominate the stage at Ozzy’s final concert, the hope of the singer honoring Aerosmith with one last concert could go from dream to reality in the near future.
