The concerts are part of Fogerty’s ongoing The Celebration Tour, which features the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman showcasing many of his old band’s classic songs. John also has been playing select tunes from his solo career during the shows. In addition, Fogerty has been including “Fight Fire,” a tune from his pre-CCR group The Golliwogs, in his recent sets.
The 79-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has had a long association with the Encore Theater, having played residency shows at the venue each year since 2017.
Fogerty’s Comments About His Las Vegas Residency
Fogerty posted a message on his social media pages about the new Las Vegas concerts. It includes a quote from John reflecting on how he feels about performing in the Nevada gambling and entertainment metropolis.
“Playing in Las Vegas to me is a very special thing,” he said. “I have been around a long time. I remember Frank [Sinatra] and the Rat Pack. They were the Vegas guys, you know, Sammy Davis, and all that… tuxedos and sitting there with their drinks onstage. It was a whole vibe about them and Las Vegas in those days.”
He continued, “I carried that image with me and considered the idea of me playing in Las Vegas… I thought it was sort of an outsider kind of thing. It seemed almost like an experiment. But I also felt it was an honor. I told people way back at the first run, ‘this is something to get good at!’ It’s an honor to be able to do this.”
Fogerty concluded, “I love what I do! I love music. You have to honor what you’re doing, go out on that stage and honor the music you’re playing… do it with dignity.”
Fogerty Other Performance Plans
Fogerty also has one more gig left on his 2024 itinerary. That show is scheduled for October 19 at the Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville, California.
Tickets for Fogerty’s concerts are available now via various outlets, including StubHub.
