Trone did not commit the murder himself, instead sending his teenage son into the L.A. restaurant to rob Allen. According to prosecutors, Allen was eating with his girlfriend at Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles when the 17-year-old approached him, demanding his jewelry.
Allen refused. Trone’s son then shot him once in the chest and twice in the back, according to a report from Music News. KTLA reported that Freddie Lee Trone was charged with felony murder, robbery, and conspiracy. He will likely spend the rest of his life in prison. Another defendant, Tremont Jones, was also found guilty of robbery and conspiracy and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
