Since winning the inaugural season of American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has established quite the resume. Snagging three Grammy Awards and selling more than 30 million albums, she began helming her own show in 2019. The Kelly Clarkson Show allows the “Behind These Hazel Eyes” hitmaker to flex her vocal chops, delivering covers that often surpass the original. However, Clarkson doesn’t mind sharing the stage. Recently, she joined country-pop star Kelsea Ballerini for this stunning duet.

This Kelsea Ballerini Song Had Kelly Clarkson “Crying Walking Around New York City”
Kelsea Ballerini celebrated the release of her fifth studio album, Patterns, on Oct. 25. The “super biographical” record debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, marking the “Cowboys Cry Too” hitmaker’s highest-charting album to date. It also became Ballerini’s first to ever reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
Kelly Clarkson made an appearance on Ballerini’s previous full-length album, Subject To Change. The songstresses joined forces with Carly Pearce for “You’re Drunk, Go Home.” And during Monday’s (Nov. 4) episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the pair reunited for a haunting duet of “To the Men That Love Women After Heartbreak,” off Ballerini’s latest.
Clarkson revealed that Ballerini had sent the song to her before appearing on the show, asking if the “Because of You” singer wanted to perform it together.
“I was like, first of all, crying walking around New York City,” Clarkson said. “This is a really beautiful song… And it’s meaningful because a lot of people feel like, damaged or discarded or whatever in relationships and afterwards. And so, to find someone that can see the beauty in that, and the shine instead of the dull, it’s pretty magical.”
