Lana Del Rey recently just wrapped up her brief fall tour, and she apparently has been donating the tour’s revenue to the cities she has been performing in.
At her final show in Charleston, West Virginia, as reported by The Fader, she made a statement explaining her intend behind that. “I just wanted to say thank you to you and to every city Iโve gone to before this,” she said, as seen in fan video. “And I also want to let you know, for what itโs worth, every ticket, every dollar, it is poured right back into the city. Because itโs not about that for me.”

“I know that that sounds cheesy, but I do it โcause I love it,” she continued. “I donโt need to. I just love it. And weโre all about the places that weโve been to, and weโre just going to leave quickly after West Virginia. So I just wanted to kind of say hello, goodbye. I hope itโs not the last time we see you.”
She proceeded to perform “Did You Know that There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd” to close out the show. The singer/songwriter took home the Best Alternative award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards in September for her 10-minute visual “Candy Necklace” featuring Jon Batiste.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Del Rey revealed that confidence issues keep her away from televised performances.
“Maybe thatโs something else Iโll grow into more, like touring,” she said. “And donโt get me wrong. I toured for nine years of my life. It was nonstop. It was tough. But you know in your heart when itโs the right time. And itโs never been the right time. Maybe now, even if I didnโt feel confident, I would do it anyway. But there was a reason not to feel confident.โ
