During the 1960s, singer Mark Greene found his footing in the music industry when he helped form the Moments with John Morgan, Richard Gross, and Eric Olfus Sr. Thanks to their talent, the band eventually caught the eye of songwriter Ed Townshend. The Moments even signed with Stang Records. Releasing hit songs like “Not on the Outside”, the label had a different vision for the group. With the label owning the name, all but Morgan was replaced. Continuing to share his love for music over the following decades, sadly, Greene recently passed away.ย
The news of Greeneโs passing circulated social media after former bandmate Eban Brown posted his condolences online. He wrote, โI would like to send Heartfelt Condolences to the family of Mark Greene, Mark was great Man and Awesome Singer he was the Original Voice to The Moments โClassic Hitโ โNot On The Outsideโ which reached No. 13 on the Billboard Charts Hot 100 in 1968, I had the pleasure of Performing with Mark when I joined Ray, Goodman & Brown he was with us for a brief period, Al Goodman thought it would be a great thing to have him join the group then, following the untimely passing of Harry Ray.โ

Mark Greene Reformed The Moments
Outside of honoring his legacy in music and work with Ray, Goodman & Brown, Brown sent love to the singerโs family, concluding, โI pray for the comfort of his loved ones! RIP MARK!โ
While Greene worked with Brown, he eventually left Ray, Goodman & Brown to explore a solo career in music. And never losing his passion for R&B, the singer released albums like The Mark Greene Project and Love is More Than Spoken.ย
As for the Moments, in 2000, Greene was able to retain the name once again. Reforming the group, the singer hit the road, touring regularly under The Moments Featuring Mark Greene. He would continue to showcase his talents on stage until his passing. Performing on stage in 2025, it seemed that Greeneโs legacy would never be forgotten as his passion and drive led him to help expand the R&B genre.ย
