With a music career dating back to the 1980s, Mark Chesnutt showcased his love for country music with songs like “Brother Jukebox”, “It Sure Is Monday”, and ”Almost Goodbye.” Although it has been more than a few years since he released a new album, Chesnutt continued to travel the country, entertaining fans. That was until he was rushed to the hospital for an emergency quadruple bypass surgery. Having to cancel a string of shows, the country star promised to return. And not wanting to let his fans down, Chesnutt kept that promise as he made his way back to the stage.

Sharing a video on Facebook, fans watched as Chesnutt performed his set at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky on Thursday. Just one day before the singer turned 61, Chesnutt seemed to fall right back into his usual routine. Fans loved watching him get back to performing, with one person writing, “Good to see these guys back on stage again!!! I know that you had a good time.”

Mark Chesnutt “Got A New Heart”
Although focusing on his recovery, Mark Chesnutt never failed to keep fans in the loop on his progress. The country singer even had a little fun when he explained his health. He once wrote on social media, “Well folks, doc says I got a new heart! I’m recovering comfortably at home with my family. Today we sat on the porch just soaking in the sun and that beautiful Texas weather. But I can’t wait to get back to pickin’ and singin’ with all my favorite fans! Thank you for all the well-wishes and prayers. They have helped and meant the world to me in my time of need. I appreciate you all so very much. See yuh soon!”
While excited for Mark Chesnutt, many fans used the moment to offer some advice to help keep him healthy. “Cut out the salt and fat! That’s the best you can do for your ticker. I had a double in 2021 and I am doing and feeling great! Gotta stay on top of that diet though.” Others simply loved seeing him smiling again. “Glad to hear you are doing good and at home recovering.. sending you much love and lots of healing prayers Mark!”
