LISTEN: Old Dominion Shares Snippet of Unreleased Song from Forthcoming EP

New music from Old Dominion is on the horizon. The country hitmakers turned to social media late Monday evening (June 6) to tease an unreleased track titled “Some Horses,” from their forthcoming EP, Memory Lane

The short snippet was paired with the EP cover art, which featured a horse on the coast at dusk. The beach-themed graphic sets the tone for the summer project, as it’s expected to be released on June 23 via Columbia Nashville/ Sony Music Nashville.

Within the breezy ballad “Some Horses,” Matthew Ramsey’s signature vocals shine through. The pedal-steel guitar-soaked track is not your typical country love song, as the reigning ACM Group of the Year conveys a narrative about a man that “can never be tamed.”

The group announced that three additional songs would also be added to the already-existing tracklist. Earlier this year, Old Dominion dropped Memory Lane (Sampler), which included the title track, “Ain’t Got a Worry,” “Freedom Like You,” and “Easier Said with Rum.” The initial release accumulated over 60 million streams.

“We’re so excited about this project! Three new songs out June 23,” wrote Old Dominion on social media. “More music to come throughout this year.”

The preview comes on the heels of their two-night stand at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. To celebrate their return to the legendary venue, Ramsey announced the highly anticipated project for the first time to the sold-out crowd.

“We just thought this would be a beautiful night to share with you that on June 23, we are releasing some new music for you guys,” said Ramsey, according to iHeartRadio. “It’s an EP called Memory Lane. We’ve already given you some of it. We got a lot more music coming for you throughout this year, and June 23 is one of those dates. So, thank you for allowing us to continue to put out new music.”

The platinum-selling band did not confirm if they would transform the EP into a full-length album.

However, the upcoming collection will include eight-whopping anthems to add on rotation. “I Should Have Married You,” “Some Horses,” “ Love Drunk And Happy,” and “How Good Is That” will be available.

Old Dominion has been on their nationwide No Bad Vibes Tour since January, selling out arenas. The group has been pulling from the unreleased EP on tour. Tickets are available for purchase to receive a sneak peek.
