Listen: The String Cheese Incident Share New Single, Announce First Studio Album in Six Years

The String Cheese Incident is back, announcing their first studio album in six years and sharing a bit of what to expect. Chronicling everything that has taken place since the release of Believe in 2017, the band—made up of Bill Nershi, Michael Kang, Keith Moseley, Michael Travis, Kyle Hollingsworth, and Jason Hann—have returned with Lend Me A Hand, their most emotionally compelling album to date.

“Every album’s a snapshot of the band at that moment, and this record turned out to be one of our most introspective,” Moseley described in a statement. “We were coming out of the pandemic and coming up on our anniversary; we’d lost someone who’s been an important part of our team for so long. All those thoughts and feelings coalesced into something that’s much more focused on the storytelling, and feels more like hanging out in the living room with us while we sing you some songs.”

Nershi added, “Rather than trying to be flashy with the musicianship, our goal was to make sure nothing got in the way of the lyrics. So even though we’re still a jam band at heart, all these songs can really stand on their own.”

With the new music news, the band has shared the album’s title track. “Lend Me A Hand” finds a band in need of someone to lean on, asking for a little assistance against a rollicking country-folk swing. The rest of the album is set to follow suit, showcasing a simplistic side of the acclaimed jam outfit.

Lend Me A Hand is set for release on Sept. 8. In the meantime, get a taste of what’s to come from their new single below.
