Jagger’s part kicks off the song, then Burna Boy comes in with a grooving, rap-sung verse. The catchy, rocking chorus also is heard in the middle and at the end of the tune.
“Am I the only one that’s sitting in this hot seat?” Mick sings. “Am I the only one that’s listening to this heart’s beat?/ Your friends all lie, and your enemies cheat/ Watching the world drive by/ Watching the world flash by.”
Jagger posted a comment about the collaboration, which he co-wrote with Burna, on his social media pages. “Loved teaming up with [Burna Boy] on ‘Empty Chairs’ from his new album No Sign of Weakness!” he wrote. The message also features a snippet of the song and a series of photos of Jagger and Burna Boy.
No Sign of Weakness is available now on CD, as a vinyl LP, and via digital formats.
