On Monday (June 12), it was announced that Combs’ hit single, “Beautiful Crazy,” has been certified diamond by the RIAA for sales of more than 10 million copies. This is only the sixth country song in history to achieve the feat, the other five being “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker, “Need You Now” by Lady A, “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton, “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line and “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus. Combs was presented with a plaque during his fan club party at CMA Fest on Thursday (June 8).

“Beautiful Crazy” was released in 2018 as a single off This One’s For You Too, the deluxe edition of his debut album, This One’s For You. The song went viral on social media and was a crowd favorite in his live show before being issued on the album. Even before its release as a single, “Beautiful Crazy” hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It eventually hit No. 1 on that chart and the Billboard Country Airplay chart in March 2019, making Combs the first artist to have his first five singles hit the pinnacle position on the latter chart. It spent seven weeks in the No. 1 position. It also reached No. 21 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100.

Combs’ most recent album, Gettin’ Old, was released in March 2023. It features singles “Love You Anyway” and his cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” the latter of which is currently in the Top 5 on country radio, as well as the Hot 100. Chapman’s original peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100 in 1988. Combs’ version serves as the country superstar’s first single sent to adult contemporary radio where it sits at No. 15 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

Combs is currently on his stadium-sized World Tour, which kicked off on June 10 and continues through October 20 when it wraps in London.
