Broadway has no shortage of artist-helmed bars lining the neon-lit street, but according to the Executive Chairman of Ryman Hospitality Properties, Colin Reed, Combs’ place promises to be much “more than a bar.”

Per a press conference from Opry Entertainment, the idea for Combs’ entertainment complex stemmed from a hunting trip he took with Reed and a host of other country heavyweights early on in his career.

“I have been approached about this a bunch of times,” Combs said during the press conference. “I knew I wanted to do it from the second I met Colin. On that trip, y’all were just about to unveil Ole Red (Blake Shelton’s Bar on Broadway). I thought, ‘These guys have got it figured out.’ I didn’t know if that was going to ever happen in my career but, I knew if I got to that spot, I’d want to do it with them.

“Having been involved with Opry, I understand you guys care about what you do just as much as I care about what I do,” he continued. “There wouldn’t be a space with my name on it if it weren’t with you guys.”

The sprawling complex will be inspired by Combs’ career thus far – particularly his 2016 song “Hurricane,” which Reed has been a fan of for a long time. Though the name of the venue has yet to be announced, Opry Entertainment has given a description of what is in store.

The complex will total 69,000 square feet with both indoor and outdoor components. All of Combs’ interests – music, whiskey, songwriting, and sports – will be represented in the space.

The big ticket items include a 1,500-person capacity concert venue, a 9,000 square-foot rooftop bar with unobstructed views of the Cumberland River and Nissan Stadium, and three interior levels with distinct themes.

The venue will be located at 120 Second Avenue North and is expected to arrive in the summer of 2024.
