We here at American Songwriter think that songs are the oxygen for your spiritual lungs.
To that end, we wanted to share 11 new works of music to brighten your day and share the good word of composition. So, with that in mind, here are 11 songs for you today.
1. Macklemore
This week, Seattle-based rapper Macklemore released his latest solo album, Ben. With it came his newest single and music video for the song “No Bad Days.” The new video was directed by his young daughter Sloane and it involves horseback riding, hair dying, and a lot of fun. 2. Boygenius
The supergroup comprised of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus released their latest single, “Not Strong Enough.” The new single comes ahead of the trio’s forthcoming new LP, the record, which is set to drop later this month on March 31. Check out the new song below.
3. Tank and the Bangas
Beloved New Orleans-based band Tank and the Bangs released their newest song, “DM Pretty.” The song is born from lead singer Tarriona “Tank” Ball’s poetry collection. The group also announced a new tour that’s set to kick off on March 9 and run through May 19.
4. Portugal. The Man
Portugal. The Man released their latest single this week. The new song, “Dummy,” comes ahead of the band’s new album, Chris Black Changed My Life, which is set to drop on June 23. Check out the newest offering below.
5. Y La Bamba
Acclaimed indie rock band Y La Bamba released its newest single “Collapse.” The new song is featured on the group’s new LP, which is set to drop later this spring. Check out the dreamy new work below.
6. Grandson
Multi-talented artist Grandson released his latest single, “Eulogy.” The new electric guitar-driven song is emotive and rich with attitude. Check out the biting track below.
7. Ashnikko
The ascorbic artist announced her debut album, WEEDKILLER, which is set to drop on June 2. With the news, she released her latest song, “Worms.” Ashnikko also announced a new tour set for the fall, beginning September 15 and concluding on October 27.
8. Buzzy Lee
Buzzy Lee, aka Sasha Spielberg (daughter of director Steven Spielberg), released her latest single, the title track for her forthcoming album, Internal Affairs. The new LP drops on March 31.
9. Jeff Goldblum
The actor is poised to release a new EP, Plays Well With Others, on March 10. With it, he recently shared his latest single, “A Baptist Beat,” which you can check out below.
10. Joanie Leeds
The Grammy Award-winning songwriter released a remix of her song, “If Girls Ruled the World.” Check out the positive, gender-affirming track from an American Songwriter favorite below. Just in time for Women’s Month.
11. The Weeknd
The artist released a new live album this week, The Weeknd Live At SoFi Stadium. He also recently dropped a new HBO special of the concert. Check out the live performance below.
