Billy Joel will return to the site of two of his most famous concerts, Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York, for a new co-headlining show with Rod Stewart that’s scheduled for July 18. The event will feature both Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees playing separate sets featuring plenty of their classic songs.

Joel and Stewart also will be playing a previously announced co-headlining gig on July 5 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. Billy previously played one other joint show with Rod, on September 13, 2024, at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.
On June 22-23, 1990, the Piano Man famously played a two-night stand at Yankee Stadium while touring in support of his Storm Front album. The shows were filmed for the 1990 concert movie Billy Joel: Live from Yankee Stadium.
With the July 2025 concert, Joel will become the first musical act ever to perform at both the original Yankee Stadium and the current ballpark, which opened in 2009.

Statements from Stewart and Yankees Executive Scott Krug
Stewart posted a message about the Yankee Stadium concert on his social media pages.
“New York! I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be joining my mate [Billy Joel] for a one-night-only performance at the legendary [Yankee Stadium]!” he wrote. “Mark your calendars for Friday, July 18, 2025!”
Scott Krug, the New York Yankees’ Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, also issued a statement about the show.
“We are thrilled to host Billy Joel and Rod Stewart this summer at Yankee Stadium,” Krug said. “Their timeless catalogs and impact on the history of rock and roll music cannot be overstated, and we expect a magical evening with them in the Bronx.”
He added, “It is also particularly fitting that Billy Joel, who was born in the Bronx and is so iconically identified with New York, will become the first musical act to headline a show at both the original Yankee Stadium and the current Yankee Stadium.”
