First stepping on stage during the 1980s, Mariah Carey proved herself to be a top name in the music industry as she sold over 220 million albums. And that was just the start as she landed several Grammy Awards and released albums like Rainbow, Butterfly, and Daydream. She also appeared in numerous films including The Bachelor, A Christmas Melody, The Lego Batman Movie, and Glitter. Nurturing a career in music and Hollywood, Carey offered NFL fans a special treat on Christmas day when she performed “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Back in 1994, Carey decided to celebrate the holiday season with the album Merry Christmas. While coming packed with songs like “Silent Night”, fans gravitated towards the hit song “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” And over the last 30 years, the song has become part of Christmas. So, it seemed only fitting that when she helped kick off the NFL Christmas game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carey would once again prove why she is the Queen of Christmas.

Mariah Carey Celebrated 2 Billion Streams
Even before the Voices of Service performed the National Anthem, Carey celebrated the NFL and Christmas with a special performance of her iconic song. Although a pre-recorded performance, fans loved hearing the classic hit on Christmas day. Looking at the comments, fans wrote, “She wanted to make this song a timeless bop and she did. It has becomes one of the most iconic Christmas songs of all time if not the most iconic song that would last throughout generation.” Another person added, “The fact that this song always finds a way to the ‘Top 100 chart’ during Christmas season, shows how dearly we hold this in our hearts.”
Outside of performing for the NFL, Carey celebrated a massive milestone this year when “All I Want for Christmas Is You” crossed two billion streams on Spotify. Showing just how legendary the song is – Carey told People, “This is beyond incredible. I’m honored to have ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ be the first holiday track on Spotify to reach 2 Billion Streams! I’m so grateful to all Spotify listeners around the world who’ve made the song part of their holiday tradition year after year.”
While a thrilling performance, don’t miss the second NFL game of the day as the Baltimore Ravens take on the Houston Texas. And if that wasn’t enough, the halftime performance will feature none other than Beyoncé.
