Why Carrie Underwood Landed The Job On ‘American Idol’

Besides featuring Underwood performing the song, the video also showcased the SNF lineup, which featured the Los Angeles Rams going against the Detroit Lions. After their historic season last year, the Lions look to continue their domination of the NFL and hope to find their way to the Super Bowl.ย

Outside of the NFL, Underwood prepares to sit beside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan during the new season of American Idol. With many names suggested when Katy Perry decided to leave, the showrunner Megan Wolflick explained why they decided to go with Underwood. โ€œWell, it is 20 years since she auditioned in St. Louis for American Idol, and to have the first-ever Idol alum on the panel has always been something thatโ€™s been interesting to me.โ€ And if that wasnโ€™t enough, she insisted, โ€œShe is our queen, she is our icon of American Idol.โ€
