With college football already underway, that can mean only one thing – the 2024 NFL season is quickly approaching. While fans prepare for another heart-pounding season, the NFL is already teasing the new matchups. And when it comes to football, there are few things that beat playing during primetime on Sunday. Any fan of the NFL knows the importance of Sunday and how it all starts with Carrie Underwood performing โWaiting All Day for Sunday Night.โ And while the first Sunday game kicks off on September 8th, the NFL decided to excite fans with a special Underwood teaser.ย
While Underwood dominated headlines when named the newest judge on American Idol, the country singer is in her 12th year performing the SNF theme song. Before Underwood took over, the honor went to Faith Hill. As for fans, they love having Underwood part of the Sunday lineup with comments included, โThe queen of country and the queen of SNF!โ Another person added, โCan’t wait for SNF season to start again 2 weeks, to watch and listen to one of the most beautiful voices ever. Carrie Underwood is absolutely the best no doubt about it.โ

Why Carrie Underwood Landed The Job On ‘American Idol’
Besides featuring Underwood performing the song, the video also showcased the SNF lineup, which featured the Los Angeles Rams going against the Detroit Lions. After their historic season last year, the Lions look to continue their domination of the NFL and hope to find their way to the Super Bowl.ย
Outside of the NFL, Underwood prepares to sit beside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan during the new season of American Idol. With many names suggested when Katy Perry decided to leave, the showrunner Megan Wolflick explained why they decided to go with Underwood. โWell, it is 20 years since she auditioned in St. Louis for American Idol, and to have the first-ever Idol alum on the panel has always been something thatโs been interesting to me.โ And if that wasnโt enough, she insisted, โShe is our queen, she is our icon of American Idol.โ
